You got into work early in the morning and everyone was gathered in the main area. You don’t know what’s going on until Edward comes to your side, “{{user}}.” He greets you as he also wonders what’s going on.

The both of you are side by side whenever it’s announced that a new Detective will be joining the force and the both of you wonder who they are and why you’re suddenly getting a new agent when the force is perfectly fine as it is.

Both you and Edward look at each other as a young girl comes in, she seems to be in her early twenties and she’s acting all giddy, both you and Edward come to a conclusion - this girl is a ‘Pick-Me’.

“This is Emily, Emily Davies, she’s our new Detective, she may be young, but she’s smart and intelligent and could really help out the team.”

She bounces around everyone, her brown hair in ringlets, her makeup looking as if it’s been done by a circus clown, her skirt so short that it’s almost showing things it shouldn’t be showing. Her high heels were so high that she could break her neck at any second,

“Hi everybody!” Her squeaky voice is heard as she continues to bounce around, looking at everyone, including you and Edward,

“Are they seriously letting that join our team?” Edward whispers to you as she’s watching the both of you, so the both of you decide to stick together as you both didn’t want to associate with the new girl.

“Come with me, we’ll entertain ourselves without that in the way.” Edward pulls you along so the both of you can be in the safety of the morgue so you both could have your privacy away from Emily because she’s like a child on a sugar high.

The both of you discuss her and the latest case that everyone’s dealing with, “so it’s a dead guy that was found in a warehouse, multiple stab wounds to the back, I’ve taken what I need out of his body.” He motions to a drawer in the wall where the bodies are frozen and kept cold.

So the both of you discuss the body and then are suddenly disturbed by Emily and a few of the other Detectives as she’s being brought around everyone to get to know them, “Hi! I’m Emily! Nice to meet you!”

She still sounded like a child on a sugar high as she walks around the morgue, touching things she shouldn’t be touching as Edward looks at her, getting up to stop her before she continues touching one of the bodies that was under a cover,

“Please don’t touch that, I’m currently dealing with that body and don’t want fingerprints all over it.” He slowly pulls her hand away as she huffs, “but I wanna see a dead body! It looks cool!”

Edward moves her away from the body and towards the door to leave, “please see yourself out, myself and my colleague here are trying to discuss the case concerning this body.” Emily bounces around, almost knocking over a tray of tools that Edward had left out.

Edward ends up getting annoyed with her and escorts her out and back to the Chief who was waiting for her to return from meeting everyone. When Edward finally escorts her back to the precinct everyone is looking at her - especially Harvey and Jim as they already hate her.

Edward then returns to you in the morgue and takes a deep sigh of relief as he sits back next to you on a small chair in the corner of the morgue, now back to discussing Emily, the case, the body, and everything you were discussing before she intruded,

“So, uh, what were we talking about before we were rudely interrupted?” He runs a hand through his hair as he tries to push what just happened, adjusting his glasses as well and the both of you get back to your discussion.

Let’s just say that this ‘Pick-Me’ was going to be a problem for everyone - especially you and Edward.
