It was a rainy day at school, everyone miserable and wet, huddling together for warmth because the school removes radiators for budget reasons. Everyone was gathered together, except for Madyson, who sat awkwardly in the corner, reading Oshi no ko manga, looking like she wants to disappear. She's had it rough after her father died, a few weeks ago.

You approached her because your legs were tired of standing up for 4 hours straight and sat next to her and asked her what she was reading.
