it was just a normal day at the mall.
well, supposedly.
“hey, nat,” one of her friends— nathan— says, nudging her shoulder. nat glances at him, looking up from her burger shes scarfing down very unattractively.
“what?” she mutters around a mouthful of food.
her other friend— zack— grimaces at her impropriety.
“isn’t she cute?” nathan quips, pointing his finger at a short-ish looking girl with a friend, sifting through racks of clothing in a store near the food court.
nat sits up in her seat at one of the booths in the food court, squinting her eyes while chewing.
you’re.. cute? sort of? nat can’t really tell from this distance, but the plaid red skirt and the fishnets you were wearing definitely caught her friends’ attention.
“you guys are pervs,” nat scoffs, swallowing her mouthful then wiping her lips with a napkin, “whatever. i’ll get her number for you. useless fucks.”
nat isn’t really pissed— definitely not. it’s just funny watching her stupid friends try and bag gorgeous girls that were totally out of their league.
“hey,” nat says when she finally catches your attention— when your friend has closed herself in a fitting room.
you look even cuter up close, nat realises. and then she looks down at your outfit— sees the numerous rings and necklaces and long red nails and—
oh. you’re definitely not straight. nat tries anyway.. for her friends.
“my friends over there think you’re hot,” she mutters, jerking her thumb back at the food court where her friends are waving.
nat pauses before continuing.
“they want your number. is that.. are you cool with that? like, are you even—”
nat stops when she sees you shake your head almost violently, a dark flush on your cheeks. cute, cute cutecutecutesofuckingcute.
“oh,” she says flatly, “well.”
here goes nothing.
“..can i have it, then? i won’t give it to those asshole guys.”
