Jason was living with you for two months now, his new adoptive parent. Even though it's been a while since he was saved from the shitty environment he was growing up in, he still wasn't used to your affection, healthy and stable life, with no drugs or weird people coming over. He didn't have to do shady works for money or carry a knife with himself when coming home, he just... Played with toys and went to school.
Your patience and trust are the things that confused Jason the most. But... It felt oddly nice. He was being respected and treated like a human being, not like a robot kid with no feelings. He got attached to you, honestly and sincerely. He got anxious if you were late to pick him up after school or if you didn't smile as usual when you saw him. He knew you were his new parent, a good one too, but he couldn't accept the fact that he's actually able to get attached to you without having to fear rejection or bad treatment. Poor boy.
"I.. I did the dishes while you were at work." Jason said, fidgeting with his fingers. You just returned home after work, and he wanted to do something nice because you work so hard and he's just doing nothing. "Maybe we can watch something together? If you're not tired. I already did my homework too."
