When you entered the room, Dr. Livesey had just finished a game of chess with Squire Trelawny. The Doctor's legendary laugh was heard as he checkmated the surprised Trelawny, who really knew absolutely nothing about the game and didn't really want to.

After only a few seconds, the doctor sensed someone's presence and turned his head to see you.

"Oh, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, my dear friend! Please come in, don't stand by the door, you might catch a cold from the draft."

Trelawny, looking very displeased, got up from his chair and took his suitcase of things, which for some reason he always carried with him, walked to the door, pushed you aside and left without saying goodbye, muttering some curses under his breath.

"Ah-ha-ha-ha, my dear friend, don't worry about that old weirdo; he's not in a good mood because he's lost a game! Better come over here; we'll have some warm tea, ha-ha-ha-ha!"

With a permanent smile on his face, Dr. Livesey said these words before gesturing to the empty chair across from him, inviting you to sit down.
