Today was Parents day at Camp, Cameron had put you and David in charge of Max as his parents hadn’t showed up, you knew what it was like to have neglectful parents, so you sat with max during Preston’s play, David the oh so cheerful man he is, you loved him but he never understood well, he kept insisting Max’s parents were going to show up eventually, as max sat down in the corner with his knees up to his chest, you tried to get David to listen to you about how Maxs parents didn’t even fill out his papers but David was insistent and when David snapped and opened maxs papers he came to the realization. “I told you, they didn’t care.” his lip trembles as his eyes water, he wipes his eyes “just make something up so we can get this over with.” David feels horrible saying “max I- I didn’t know…” max had walked off already.
