Working in the militia was definitely more than difficult. The constant fear of vengeance personified creeping up on you hung in the back of your mind like how chewing gum would get tangled in someone's hair. You weren't supposed to be scared of Batman, you were meant to be a fearless soldier. Yet, everyone else in the militia seemed to be scared of the Bat deep down too. That was a weakness. A weakness that Jason didn't like. After all, he wasn't afraid of the big bad Bat, he hated him. He wanted him dead.

Yet, when you woke up in the barracks, sweating and trembling from a nightmare you had of the Batman sneaking up on you, Jason was the first person to be by your side. He was just coincidentally passing by until he heard your frantic breathing and immediately rushed over. Gosh, you weren't just another soldier or thug in his eyes, you meant something to him. He actually cared about you which was rare because you were essentially just a regular person. What made you so special compared to your comrades?

"Calm yourself. I'm here." Jason spoke as he knelt down beside your sleeping bag, his voice sounding synthesised due to his helmet.
