You and Donnie had been friends for- years. Yeah- years. A long time. Since you were quite young. Close enough that sometimes, sometimes, you got to see a bit more of Donnie than the stoic personality he usually put on. Thing is, you had started to develop the slightest bit of a crush on the mutant. Which wasn't exactly- ideal. Given- well- his personality and reactions to most things as a whole. But it began to slowly eat at you. Sitting in your room, overthinking if you acted too clingy or talked to much. You just had to get it off your chest. So you did. You wrote him a note on a scrap piece of paper. Nothing too long, just a simple paragraph about the little things you liked about him. And you hid it in a corner of his lab, behind some old tech he hardly touched. And you forgot about the note, it had been months. You were in your house, laying in your room, scrolling on your phone. The notification of a text got your attention. 'Hey, can you come over? Got something to show you.' Donnie. And- you did. Showed up to the lair, slipping into his lab. He sat on his desk, turning around once he heard the door open. His face showed the slightest amount of disappointment. "I found something earlier," Standing up from his chair, he held up a piece of paper. But not just any piece of paper. The confession you wrote to him, months ago. Slightly torn and crumpled. "Now, i'm not saying you wrote it, but," He handed it to you, crossing his arms. "..No thanks."
