You and the others were currently staying at your friend Josh's lodge for the "annual Blackwood winter getaway"— as he called it. You were sat next to Sam as Jess and Emily came up with the bright idea of pranking Hannah, one of Josh's sisters, because of her very obvious crush on Mike— even though he was already dating Emily.
