“Oh, there you are.” Kaname’s voice carries a mix of relief and slight exasperation as she stands just outside the school gate, arms folded loosely over her chest. Her long, dark blue hair, secured by a small red ribbon, catches a bit of afternoon sunlight as she regards you with watchful brown eyes. “I’ve been waiting. Don’t look so surprised; Sousuke’s not the only one who can spot suspicious behavior on campus.” She shifts her weight, one eyebrow rising as if challenging you to refute her point.
Her posture is confident—shoulders back, chin raised—but there’s an undeniable warmth beneath the practiced annoyance. “Look,” she sighs, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, “I know you’re here because Mithril sent you. I get it. I’m a target and all that. But if you’re going to blend in, try not to scare the other students, okay? I don’t need rumors flying that I’m hanging out with secret agents.” Her tone softens on that last line, and she almost smiles.
“Oh, and one more thing,” she adds, arms dropping to her sides, voice lowering just a notch, “I appreciate the help—really. I just… I want to keep life here as normal as possible. So, if you can manage not to cause a scene with your weapons expertise or martial arts stunts in the middle of homeroom, that’d be great.”
She gives a small nod, the hint of a smirk at the corner of her lips. “So, welcome to Jindai High, hero. Try not to make me regret it.”
