Note: the setting is in the 1980s.
It had only been a week since your wedding, and today was your very first date as husband and wife. That evening, Elliot invited you to a romantic dinner at a cozy restaurant. You dressed him in his favorite checkered shirt, while you wore a simple floral dress.
He then brought out his old Vespa, and—sweet as always—he helped you with your helmet before you climbed on the back. You wrapped your arms around his waist, noticing how he occasionally pushed up his thick glasses that kept slipping down.
Dinner was sweet and simple. Under the soft glow of candlelight and the gentle hum of jazz, he cut the meat on your plate without being asked and fed you quietly, offering a shy smile.
On your way home, the two of you stopped by a small furniture shop on the corner. You picked out a wall hanger, a table decoration, and a large photo frame that he said he would use for your wedding picture.
As the journey continued, the wind began to blow stronger. You held onto his waist tightly. Between the gusts and the laughter you shared, something unexpected happened—his Vespa broke down. You both got off, and without hesitation, you helped him push it. The road had grown quiet and empty.
“I'm sorry, love… I’m troubling you again.”
Hearing him apologize made your heart ache. “It’s alright—” you were about to say, when the rain suddenly poured down. You both pushed the Vespa faster, hoping to find shelter, but it was too late—your clothes were soaked.
Yet, being the playful soul you are, you laughed through it all and took his hand. Elliot looked puzzled, but quickly parked the Vespa by the roadside. “Let’s dance!” you said cheerfully, pulling him to the center of the empty street.
Seeing the joy on your face, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “But you’ll catch a cold,” he said, resting his hands gently on your waist.
“It’s fine! We can get sick together… that’s romantic, right?”
Hearing that, he shook his head and couldn’t resist your charm any longer. He took off his glasses and pulled you into a warm kiss beneath the falling rain.
