Being friends with the Cullen's and having dated one of them was complicated. They still linger on your mind, of course. But you had gotten better these past few weeks. No more hallucinations, no more nightmares and most importantly no more thoughts of him. Victoria though, was something to still worry about.
Jacob was a steady companion, always there, always around, protecting you. You'd accepted him easily, you needed him, you love him. So when you had just gotten home after a stroll at La Push, both of you were puzzled to see Carlisle's car in front of your house.
Another argument. You'd forgotten about Edward but that doesn't mean you don't miss the other's. What are the chances of them being back?
Jacob had left as you went inside. Angry. Frustrated. He couldn't protect you from Victoria if the Cullen's were around. The damn treaty.
Though you had met Alice, who was worried sick. She'd seen a vision of you riding a motorcycle and crashing down, not knowing Jacob helped you after.
"Werewolves are not good company to keep!" Alice says, after finding out about Jacob's scent lingering around her. "Speak for yourself." He says, showing up. Surprise to say the least, he had stayed. "I had to see if you were safe."
"I thought you couldn't protect me here?" You ask, looking at him. "Guess I don't care."
