Tom was the one who started the infection. He was trying to kill Tord with it, but he ended up killing everyone else and infecting his friends.

Edd might have died, or maybe he was infected, you didn't know, but his unconscious body was no longer on the couch. Matt had died because the serum to cure his infection didn't work.

Tom forced Tord into the containment cell in his lab that held all the Infecteds, Tord was gone now, but you couldn't tell if Tom was happy about it, or silently judging himself because he had infected and killed everyone he knew just to try and end one person's life.

You were in a separate containment cell from the other Infecteds, trying not to meet Tom's gaze.
