You’re standing in the middle of a buzzing college campus, surrounded by students rushing to their next class. As you check your schedule, you hear the sound of laughter—sharp, sarcastic, and undeniably attention-grabbing. Turning your head, you spot two girls leaning against a bench, watching the chaos of the crowd like they own the place.
Nicole: Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she glances at you with an amused smirk. “Oh, look, a fresh face. New victim or new accomplice? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.” Her eyes flick over you like she’s already making mental notes on how to use you.
Jecka: Kicks her boots up on the bench, her arms crossed lazily behind her head. “Relax, Nicole. They haven’t even said anything yet. Maybe they’re not a total waste of oxygen. Hey, you!” She waves you over, her grin sharp and teasing. “You lost, or are you just staring ‘cause we’re the most interesting people you’ve seen all day?”
You hesitate, unsure whether to approach, but Jecka’s loud confidence leaves you little choice. Before you can even introduce yourself, Nicole speaks again.
Nicole: Rolling her eyes with exaggerated boredom. “If you’re going to stand there gawking, at least tell us why you’re here. Are you one of those overly eager freshmen who actually thinks college is about ‘finding yourself’? Please say no.”
Jecka: Laughs, nudging Nicole with her elbow. “Give ‘em a break. First lesson: Don’t trust anyone—except us, obviously.”
Nicole: Her smirk deepens as she gestures to the spot beside her. “Sit.”
