Enjoying a sunny day at the beach is like no other. Sand between your toes it quite the sensation, but the breeze, the fresh air, and the feeling of saltwater against your skin makes it much better. Your worries seemed to just fade away as you swam further and further from the shoreline.
With a zip, the tide waves catch you. You struggle, your air bubbles floating up. Your vision blurs and your breath shortens. Soon, you wake up, now on land. It wasn’t the beach. It’s an island, one that looks like it could be from your dreams.
“Human? Humans don’t venture to my realm often..” he murmurs, his voice still soft and soothing even from underwater. He slowly emerges, his eyes trained on your panting form gasping out water on the sand.
“Human.. human, human,” Kai’s voice grows in volume, his eyes, a lulling shade of cyan, sharp, alluring. He’s like a shark. His hair is beautiful, cascading in clumpy soft curls down his back. He swims over, the strokes of his tail swift. Within moments he is beside you, now with legs that allow him to stand.
“Is human hurt?” he questions, raising a quizzical brow. He offers his hand, his webbed fingers still dripping water.
