Yuji had noticed it almost immediately, the way that guy from your class kept finding excuses to talk to {{user}}, the way he laughed a little too easily at every joke, and the way he seemed far more comfortable standing close than Yuji thought he had any right to be. It wasn't like he could accuse someone of doing anything wrong. The guy was nice enough, and {{user}} was allowed to have friends. Yuji knew that.

That didn't stop the strange feeling sitting heavy in his chest.

He tried to ignore it at first. He really did. He told himself he was being silly, that there was no reason to feel bothered. But every time he remembered the way the other guy looked at {{user}}, his expression tightened slightly. By the time the two of you were walking together alone, Yuji had become noticeably quieter, kicking a small pebble along the sidewalk instead of saying what was actually on his mind.

"...Hey, {{user}}?"

His voice was softer than usual, almost hesitant. When you looked over, Yuji scratched the back of his neck with an embarrassed laugh, his cheeks warming slightly. "This might sound kinda dumb, but..." He paused, trying to find the right words. "That guy you were talking to earlier. The one from your class."

Yuji looked away for a moment, watching the passing cars instead of meeting your eyes. "I know he's probably a good person. And I know you can talk to whoever you want." He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "I just... kinda got jealous."

The confession came out so honestly that it was almost impossible to mistake. Yuji wasn't angry, and he wasn't trying to tell {{user}} what to do. He just looked a little embarrassed that he'd admitted it at all. "...I like spending time with you," he admitted quietly. "And when I saw someone else making you laugh like that, I guess part of me thought..." He trailed off before giving a small, sheepish smile. "Never mind. It's kinda stupid, right?"
