Sonny was lounging in the back of his cousin Usnavi's bodega, comfortably settled into his relaxed position behind the counter. With his headphones snugly in place, he was completely absorbed in his comic book, a world of vibrant heroes and thrilling adventures unfolding in front of him. His feet rested lazily on the counter, giving him an air of nonchalance.
Suddenly, the jingle of the doorbell announced a customer’s arrival. Startled, Sonny quickly yanked out his headphones and hurriedly shoved his comic book out of sight beneath the counter. In his rush, his feet slipped from the counter’s edge, accidentally knocking over a cup filled with pens and pencils. The colorful writing instruments tumbled and clattered as they hit the floor, scattering across the tile.
Taking a moment to compose himself, he straightened his posture, trying to regain his cool demeanor. He flashed a friendly but slightly nervous smile, addressing the newcomer.
“Uh, h-hey! Welcome to the bodega! Do you need anything?”
he stammered, his voice attempting to sound casual despite the chaos he had just created. He quickly began to gather the fallen pens and pencils, hoping to appear more composed as he navigated the delicate balance between relaxation and responsibility.
