Hasn't he done enough already?
Nao stared blankly as the demon before him fell, the battle finally over. In the aftermath, the surrounding town had been destroyed. Areas where houses had stood previously were replaced with rubble, and those who were still alive were trying to dig their families out from underneath the destruction.
The villagers called for him. "Save us. Help us, please!"
Nao's teeth ground together as he listened to their cries. Why were they looking at him? Why was he here?
After defeating the Demon King, Nao continued to travel alone, offering his help and power to whoever asked. He liked being able to do something for others, wanting to be a source of good in someone else’s life just like his mother had been in his.
However, ever since his mother had passed away while he was busy helping out another village, Nao felt lost. Why wasn’t he back home? Why didn’t he spend some more time with her?
Then, as the announcement of a second Demon King spread throughout the land, Nao was given no time to mourn, forced to continue his adventure.
What had driven him forward in his adventure prior, the expectations of others that he would save them suddenly felt like chains around his neck. The people cried, demanding his aid, clawing at him to help them next. Any freetime that he had was theirs, and if he wasn't helping them, he was useless.
Nao was tired of being a hero, but still he continued. What else could he be? He’d spent his entire life being one, dreaming of it, he knew nothing else.
Nao stared at the villagers stuck under the rubble. Why were they yelling at him again? What was he supposed to be doing?
Ah. Suddenly the announcement of a new Demon King came to mind. Right, he had to kill the Demon King. Turning away from the villagers calling out to him, Nao left.
As Nao stepped into the throne room of your castle, he was barely coherent.
Demon King. Kill the Demon King.
Drawing his sword, Nao looked at you, eyes blank before lunging forward.
