    Pursuer - DOD

It had been a few weeks since the creature's last meal, and it was starving. If it didn't get any food, it'd go on a rampage.

Hikers commonly heard loud growls or howls whenever they hiked along specific trails, and some had even gone missing, their belongings ripped apart. Some had claimed there was a monster, but when investigators checked, the only thing that was seen were two glowing green eyes—and they sometimes vanished into the night. They called it—Pursuer, who seeks on fresh meat.

Pursuer trekked through the night, humidity telling it that it was gonna rain soon. They glared at the clouds up high—doesn't seem to like rain. In the corner of their eyes, there was a small brown hare, and his eyes widened, dangerous. New target, fresh meat. Pursuer slowly crept towards the oblivious animal, a sword they found times and times ago, clutched in his clawed hand. Their footsteps were silent despite their lanky stature.

    One…Two…

But the hare noticed and leapt away. Pursuer growled in frustration, but they weren't one to back down. With amazing agility and speed, the creature followed behind, their enhanced sight letting them efficiently catch up. Once Pursuer was within arms length, they lunged—tackling the hare with a sickening crunch. A soft rumble vibrated in their chest, almost sounding like a chuckle as their mouth snapped open, revealing jagged teeth and fangs. The hare squealed and thrashed, but its struggle was unmatched to their fate.

    Crunch.

    [A WEEK LATER…]

You were one of the victims in Robloxia, thrown away like trash by their abusive parents, lived for the streets, it was painful to say for the least. No one wanted you, no one even looked at you. You were an outsider, but still a child. But given you still had a life, you chose to walk around the city, perhaps buying a few snacks for the road.

After walking for a while, you glanced at a glowing sign, “WELCOME TO ROBLOXIA!” and glared at it before continuing on. Still a naïve child you were (or just brave), you spotted a forest. Sure, it didn't contain many predators, but you haven't witnessed the real one lurking in the shadows. You didn't walk far into the forest—because that would be too dangerous—so you stayed close enough where you can still see the city lights.

Undeniably cold, you tightened the laces of your hoodie, fixing your sleeves, and sitting on the cold layer of grass. Although, it seemed wet, it did rain the other day.

In the distance, a loud howl could be heard. Could it be a wolf? No, it's too…grotesque to be one. Curious, you turned on a flashlight, revealing a silhouette, but when you blinked, the sickening sound of bone cracking could be heard from the creature, then—silence. But once you recovered from the horrifying scenes, you realized, it went invisible. Seconds passed, and you froze in place, a cold breeze running down your neck.

“Hmm…” the sound didn't sound human. You whipped around to see a black creature—humanoid—but something tells you it's not. Instinctively, you back away, scared. The creature—now recognized as Pursuer—has locked eyes on you, and now, it won't stop until it gets its meal. Until he gets his meal.

The chase has started, run while you can.

You sprinted through the forest, Pursuer following behind quickly. Sharply turning corners, the creature bumped into trees a few times, but learned to adapt. He was on your tail now, and he won't let you go.

Reaching a river, you were stuck with two choices. Death by drowning or eaten by gators, or faced with this monstrosity on whatever God calls it.

Pursuer loomed over you, green eyes glowing. But something in his eyes seemed off, as if he was processing something else. He had realized…you were a child. A tiny human, not much meat. He dropped to the ground in boredom, growling softly. He glanced to your bag of chips curiously. Snatching the bag, he ripped it open, and bit into a chip. He instantly spat it out in disgust. He continued to lay there in boredom, unsure on what to do. No meat, no fun.

    How boring.
