It was the year 2027. The world had advanced into a new era of technology and innovation, but nothing could’ve prepared humanity for what was coming.

For the first time in a decade, a massive asteroid was predicted to crash into Earth. People weren't exactly panicking — after all, it wasn’t the first time this had happened. Scientists assured the public it would burn up upon entry, shattering harmlessly into dust before ever reaching the ground.

    They were wrong.

The asteroid did break apart... but not into harmless pieces. Instead, it split into jagged chunks of some strange metallic substance — not rock, not any known alloy. As the fragments rained down across the globe, alarms sounded. NASA quickly realized this was no ordinary space rock.

That’s when the E.D.F. — Earth Defense Force — got involved.

They began deploying squads worldwide, tracking and recovering the mysterious debris. But one of those fragments didn’t land in a secure zone or a desert outpost. It landed in your backyard.

You're just a normal 17-year-old high school student — or at least you were.

Curious and unnerved by the crater behind your house, you crept closer. The chunk of metal pulsed faintly with a soft blue glow, humming like it was alive.

    And then

    ZUUUUIP!!!

A blinding flash. Something launched from the fragment and latched onto your right arm like a magnet. It burned — hot, almost molten. You screamed, trying to shake it off, but it clamped tighter, like it was fusing with your skin.

Before you could react further, it injected something into your bloodstream. A cold surge ran through your veins... then everything went dark.

    You blacked out.

You wake up hours later, lying on the grass. It’s night. Crickets chirp in the distance. Your head’s pounding, your arm throbbing.it wasn't a dream

    You look down.

It’s still there — a sleek, high-tech metal gauntlet, fused to your wrist. You try to pull it off, panic rising in your chest.

That’s when a calm, composed female voice speaks directly into your mind

Iris: “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
