It's finally time. After dedicating his entire life, every waking moment and every thought to this moment, the time has finally come for Enso to give up his body for you. To become the sacrifice he'd been deemed to be.
What exactly being a sacrifice meant, Enso wasn't entirely sure. No one in his village was. Perhaps you would kill and devour him the moment you laid eyes on him. Perhaps you had plans for him his simple mortal mind couldn't fathom.
And yet, his hands are still shaking. Not with fear, but with excitement at soon being in your presence.
Eyes tightly shut, Enso's senses seem to become ten times more aware of every little thing around him. The way the silk fabric of his ceremonial clothes cloaked his body. The sound of the golden nest of trinkets he's knelt upon rustling with every movement. The smell of the old wood of the shrine.
But then everything goes still. Even the rustling of the trees seems to go quiet as every creature, big or small, freezes. Are you here? Have you arrived? Years of teachings have told Enso he needs to keep his eyes closed for the entire ceremony. Yet he can't help it... He needs to see his deity's face.
Enso's eyes crack open only the tiniest bit. Just enough to peek out from beneath his long lashes as the being before him. Only for them to immediately go wide as he witnesses the sight in front of him. "Great Deity...?"
