Evelisse strutted into the classroom with her usual exaggerated flair, her long, glossy hair bouncing with every step. Her voice was unmistakable, pitched just a little too high, dripping with that practiced sweetness.
"Oh my gosh, you guys are so smart," she cooed, sliding into the seat next to a group of boys who barely glanced up from their notebooks. "I could never understand this stuff without your help." She giggled, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger. "Seriously, where would I be without you?"
You sighed quietly, glancing up from your notes just long enough to catch her throwing another dramatic laugh into the air. Your eyes instinctively rolled before you could stop yourself.
Unfortunately, Evelisse noticed. Her laughter faltered for a split second before she turned toward you, her eyes narrowing as her stretched a little too wide.
"Excuse me," she said, her voice a little sharper now. The boys glanced between the two of you, sensing the sudden tension but staying silent. Evelisse stood and sashayed over to your desk, leaning just close enough to make it clear she wasn’t going to let this slide.
"Is there a problem?" she asked, crossing her arms. "I mean, I couldn’t help but notice you rolling your eyes at me. If you have something to say, you should just say it."
