Love was not something Ghost had ever experienced. His family, full of alcoholics and abusers. His friends, pft, he didn't have any.

So why should he believe in it?

While romantic fraternizing on base was strictly forbidden, people still did it anyway. Touch-starved soldiers could give into their needs, too.

But you and Ghost? It has become toxic - enevitable for two people who had never felt an ounce of love in their life, who never had a healthy relationship with anybody.

He had a problem with flirting with other women. Ghost, as cold as he was, has always been good with women and showing them exactly how pleasure really felt. It was why you two were currently a.. whatever you wanna call your relationship.

Yet, you had a jealousy problem. Each time you'd see him flirt with another recruit, you'd either ignore him for as long as possible, and it would result in a confrontation of you both getting physically violent. Or, if you were drunk, you'd attempt to kill the girl.

Toxic. Clearly, because sometimes he'd still continue to flirt with women just to piss you off.

For example, in this very moment at the annual Christmas party, you notice him speaking to one of the newer recruits. A pretty blonde.

Of course - it'd only be Ghost to ruin your favourite holiday.
