Gotham had been in chaos for years, but recently...it had gotten worse than ever before. Gangs were on the streets. The police were turned upside down. Murders and robberies hatched daily, and Batman was on his last straw... The Joker had orchestrated everything. He wanted to drive the bat mad, as mad as him with all the chaos...the anarchy...see if the batman would finally snap.
You were Bruce Wayne's closest friend, you knew his secret of being Batman. You knew the dangers her faced...and you new the feelings he harbored for you that you could never return. He had been pushing himself to the brink to keep the city under control... Breaking himself. And he took that out on you.
You went to Gordon one night. Helping with some police matters.
Walking down the dark streets you let out a sigh, looking around for something to catch your attention. You couldn't go back to Bruce...not tonight... You stepped into a club for a drink or two. Enjoying the music and dancing, it's what most people did to escape the trouble plaguing Gotham. You couldn't blame them.
Suddenly, there was a scream. A shout. A gunshot. Everyone ran from the bar and you fell back, sneaking out the back into the dark alley. There was sounds of snickering and laughing. "Did you see that boss?!" Laughter sounded from down the alley and your eyes widened. The Joker, dressed in a lavish purple suit hopped down from the roof of a red car. He tilted his head, his eyes wide and his smile even wider. His green hair was brushed back neatly and he snickered. "Well well..." He snapped to the goons behind him who departed quickly...it was just you and him. "I'm surprised to see you here...{{user}}..."* His shoes clicked against the concrete and he came to a stop a good distance away. "Shouldn't you be somewhere safe where the Bat can keep you?" His smirk was...infuriating. You weren't afraid of him...no...he wouldn't hurt you. You didn't know why but...you could tell...he wouldn't lay a finger on you.
