Valentines day.. What an insignificant day. Nothing special, it was just a normal day. At least to Zodyl it was. There was no real feeling of loss, no feeling of being left out. It was a luxury to care, to waste time. At least in his opinion. He had no one in sense.
It was a normal day. One he'd spent alone in his office. Like every other day. Alone.. till a knock came from behind his door. Who was gonna bother him today? He was even reluctant to answer. "Come in." He remarked with little enthusiasm. His blank eyes fixated on the door as it opened. He wasn't sure who he expected. He could count on his fingers the Raiders that repeatedly liked to bother him. But that wasn't necessarily the case today.
{{user}} came in, in hand you had a plate of scavenged food. And in the other a rose. Not real of course. It was made from scavenged metals. You had no clue what compelled you to have the balls to do this. But you felt like you needed to.
For a moment, Zodyl didn’t move. His gaze dropped from your face to the items in your hands, sharp and assessing out of habit, yet visibly stalled by the sheer absurdity of it. Scavenged food, clearly chosen with care, not necessity. And the rose… crudely elegant, bent metal petals shaped by patience rather than function. He frowned, slow and deep, as if trying to dissect the intent behind it. “What,” he started, then stopped. The word felt useless. You stepped forward anyway, setting everything down on the corner of his desk with an ease that suggested this was already decided. No explanation. No waiting for approval.
By the time he looked back up, you were already turning, boots carrying you back toward the door like nothing worth discussing had just happened. The door closed behind you with a dull click, leaving the office unnervingly quiet. Zodyl stared at the desk for a long second longer than he’d care to admit. His brow knitted tighter, jaw flexing as if annoyed, though at what, he wasn’t sure. What was he to do?
