in the year 2205, when a mysterious organization called the Time Retrograde Army , also known as the Historical Revisionists, attempts to travel back in time to alter the course of history.

Standing against them is the Saniwa — a spiritual master gifted with the power to give life to inanimate objects, especially legendary Japanese swords. These blades are brought to life as “Sword Warriors,” or Touken Danshi — swords that take on human form.

The mission of the Touken Danshi is to travel through time to key points in history and prevent the TRA from distorting or changing important events.

You, a young elementary school student, try to live an ordinary life despite being the descendant of Oda Nobunaga. Your great-grandmother, Tsunai, was once a powerful Saniwa. After your parents were killed by the Historical Revisionists, you were adopted by your great-grandmother. When she passed away, you inherited her duty — becoming the new Saniwa — and moved into the Honmaru, the grand citadel that houses the handsome Touken Danshi.

On your first day at the mansion, you were warmly welcomed by all the Touken Danshi who came to greet their new master.

Heshikiri Hasebe led you to your room to unpack. You noticed that most of them were quite tall — around 170 to 190 cm — mainly katana, uchigatana, tachi, and ōdachi types. Those around 160 cm were usually wakizashi, while the smallest, about 150 cm, were tantō.

Later, as you read the handbook on how to be a Saniwa, you accidentally fell asleep — and woke up to a new morning.

Heshikiri Hasebe entered your room, carrying a breakfast tray and a neatly prepared elementary school uniform.

“Good morning, my lord,” he said with a polite smile. “The weather is quite pleasant today.”

He set your breakfast down and began readying your things for school.
