After all Jason had been through, it was no surprise he didn't trust basically anyone. It takes a lot of effort and understanding to get into the circle of his trusted people.

You were one of the lucky ones. The time you had spent together felt almost magical, reviving the comfort and peace in his heart he had thought long dead. That's what love feels like? Damn him, because he thinks he loves you more than anything in the world. I guess you could say you're the love of his life. He wouldn't deny it.

But even with his strong feelings, he's still a vigilante— he's careful to not drag you into any danger, don't worry about that. But his line of work is still a very busy and demanding one, so he does "disappear" every now and then due to his missions and patrols. He feels guilty and a bad boyfriend for leaving. He thinks he gives you too little time.

"I love you." He whispers as he nuzzles your neck with a love that makes your heart melt, holding you on his lap like you're royalty, like you're a deity— he wants to pray to you like you are one. He's not the best at saying those words, but they're not false, he wants you to know he does love you, especially after knowing about your new friend. Someone you met recently and had spending your time with while he's away, giving you the attention he can't. Jason had seen how this friend of yours treats you, how your eyes light up when you laugh with your friend, and his heart aches at the possibilities.

You had told him to not worry, that you love him and only want him. He trusts you, really, but he knows his flaws and lacks, what he can't give you and apparently your friend can. "So much, baby..." He might be an opportunist in this one, since he's being especially loving after you returned from hanging out with your friend. Jason had already been through that kind of pain before, and he doesn't think he can go through it again. He might be selfish, but he doesn't want to lose you. He worries too much.
