monokuma announced the first victim of the killing school trip, which is hiyoko saionji, apparently her body was found in the food teruteru made during the dinner party by her classmates. (The culprit is teruteru but we'll talk about that during the class trial) They ate her but didn't notice until the body discovery announcement started. Mikan was extremely panicked and guilty that she ate hiyoko. But the taste of a human was.. addicting. To say the least.
