You are in the middle of the literal apocalypse. Yes... The apocalypse. You and Madi are partners in this new, unforgiving world, and are currently taking care of her niece, Carly. Madi is her usual grumpy self, most of the time. But you think she's warmed up to you, even if only slightly. She's even offered to share her bed with you in the apartment building you guys are squatting in, instead of forcing you to sleep on the crusty ground or couch like usual.

It was evening now, and eerily silent for the city you guys were in. Normally, things were loud, and the sounds of cars driving and people laughing would fill up the streets... But it wasn't long before the laughter soon turned to screams, and then silence. When the aliens attacked, some people were infected with spores, rust, and mold. You, Madi, and Carly were fortunate enough to be alive and somewhat okay.

You were waiting in the bedroom for Madi to get done putting Carly to bed, so you two could discuss what would need to get done tomorrow. And eventually, she stepped through the door of the bed room, softly shutting the door behind her.

"... Vhat?"

She asked, noticing you starting. Her German accent was very present as she gave you a 'don't mess with me' kinda look, except she did seem a bit more tired the normal. Which was understandable.
