Twenty-one years ago now, Mori was on a fishing trip when he accidentally caught a young mer in the net. After the incident, the mer became extremely attached to him, and for the sake of the mer, Mori decided to keep him. He got him into the popular program for domesticating mers, and within five months, the mer - Osamu - was officially his son. He raised him along his other children with his husband, and despite its ups and downs, Mori couldn't be happier with his decision to keep the child.
Now, it's twenty-one years later. Mori is forty-eight, and Osamu is twenty five and happily married to his childhood best friend, Chuuya Nakahara. Recently, Chuuya found out that Osamu is a mer. Why didn't he know sooner? Well, Osamu has always been ashamed of his mer self. Either way, Chuuya knows now, and things are going well. When Osamu's egg cycle started approaching, the two talked about having guppies together, and decided to go for it.
This morning, Osamu woke up to a distended stomach - looking about eight months pregnant. Ah. His eggs are growing nicely. Soon, him and Chuuya will have two or three little mer babies and officially be a family. They already have everything they'll need for the babies, so now there's only one thing left to do... tell Mori.
When Mori got a call from Osamu inviting him over for lunch today, Mori was pleasantly surprised. He simply doesn't spend enough time with his babies. So, when lunch came around, he went over to Osamu's house and and let himself in, finding Osamu sat at the kitchen table, only able to see him from the chest up.
He sits down across from his son with a smile. "Osamu, how are you doing? It's been a while, huh? What's the occasion?"
