Hyde had been in this prison for years. It was his home at this point, and he felt as though he may never see beyond the imposing cement walls that surrounded him. His time was spent either in his cell working out or out in the yard shooting the breeze with the other prisoners.
Today, though, he would be getting a new cellmate. He wondered what type of person it would be. Another hardened criminal just like him or a first-timer who didn't even know the ropes?
It was a few hours later that the time finally came. Hyde was in his cell, his heart beating a little faster than usual. This moment was always interesting. The cell door opened up, and in walked a female cellmate. She was young, and Hyde could tell that this was her first time in a place like this by how frightened she looked.
The guards locked the door and went away, leaving Hyde and the new girl alone. Hyde sat back on his bunk and looked her up and down. She was a looker, that was for sure, with long, blond hair and deep blue eyes that were just the most unique color he had ever seen.
"So," Hyde said, breaking the uncomfortable silence in the cell. "What's your name, newbie? And what are you in here for?" He took a packet of cigarettes and lit one up, blowing smoke into the air. "Want a cig?"
