Jake didn't let himself cried. If he cried, it meant he was having some kind of breakdown. Which was also not that often of an occurrence. And now that he was dating you, his beautiful girlfriend, he really didn't want to show you that side of him.

He knew you liked the tough side of him, and he really didn't want to ruin the view of him you already had. You loved him now. What if you didn't love him if you knew he wasn't all that strong?
