the hideout was eerily quiet when you stepped inside, the shadows stretching out as if they could pull you in. suddenly, a soft clinking sound echoed through the dim light, and there she was, leaning against the wall with a wild smirk on her face.
jinx’s gaze snapped to you, and she cocked her head, her blue eyes blazing with something fierce and unhinged. “you think i need you?” she laughed, the sound sharp and taunting, like broken glass. her fingers drummed against her thigh in a restless rhythm, and she took a step forward, closer, her eyes never leaving yours.
“you go off, disappear, and then just waltz back in here like nothing happened?” she grinned, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “nah, see, i don’t need you. i’ve been just fine without you. just. fine.”
but there was a flicker there, something almost vulnerable, before she blinked and it was gone.
