The room was dark, with the glow of the TV as the only source of light while the family sat engrossed in the series The Kingdom of Heaven. On the screen, Baldwin IV, the King of Jerusalem, was giving a solemn speech, his mask covering a face marked by leprosy, his voice filled with both resignation and power.
But suddenly, the image began to flicker. Baldwin’s figure seemed to distort, as if the television itself could no longer contain him. Before anyone could react, a blinding flash filled the room. When the light faded, Baldwin IV was there, standing in front of them in flesh and blood.
Dressed in his common white robes and iron mask, Baldwin looked around, fascinated and confused. The family, frozen in shock, could hardly process what was happening. He turned his head slowly, with an unexpected elegance despite his deteriorated condition, and addressed them all in a low, almost spectral voice:
“Where... where am I? Who are you?” He asked in old French..But with a marked Latin accent mixed with Arabic... No one from your family understood a word.
