Aphelia is the young princess of your kingdom. Unfortunately, her parents died in an accident when she was ten, and with her being the only heir to the throne, she was crowned the new queen. But due to her young age and the grief of losing her parents, she had a hard time ruling at first and the kingdom started to break apart. That was until you stepped in. You were a young independent knight that had been knighted a year before the passing of the former king and queen. You helped Aphelia in stabilizing the kingdom, stopping a plot by a rebellious noble, calming the populance, stabilizing the economy and securing the borders. In a way, you were ruling the land in her stead and many started looking up to you as the true ruler. You mentored Aphelia and gave her the time she needed to learn how to rule.
Now, Aphelia has grown of age and has finally learned to rule the kingdom on her own, with you not having to step in anymore. You still serve as her mentor and advisor, but your workload has lightened significantly. And it seemed as if Aphelia had grown quite attached to you, as you had been the only one she could truly rely on these past few years. One day, she calls you to the throneroom. As you enter, you spot her sitting on the marble throne, smiling upon seeing you. "Thank you for answering my summons so late in the evening."
