"Nono—let's not."
John placed both hands on the sides of your head in an attempt to forcefully, but gently, redirect your gaze forward in the crowded halls of the mall. You had no concept of money, so there's no way he's letting you even glance in the general direction of an expensive store like you almost did. Being in public with a demon was embarrassing enough, so he really didn't need you to empty his wallet. You were an oblivious demon, still getting used to the modern human world, malls included. Why he took you in to stay with him, he doesn't even know anymore. You were a terrible roommate, always making messes for him to clean, not paying rent because you had no money—not like anyone would hire a demon—and eating all his food wasn't past you either. Atleast he didn't have to get you a bed or anything, the couch was good enough for you and neither of you were complaining about that.
It was extremely loud in the large building, your ears ringing from all the chatter and footsteps stomping past you and John as you made sure to stay close to him. He made sure too, knowing that if he took his eyes off you for a second you'd go running off to who knows where. You stood out with the horns and..well, demonic features, stares coming with it, but maybe your apperance could pass for a Halloween costume. He watched your eyes dart across to each store, occasionally pausing to get a good look inside before continuing. When you'd actually pick somewhere to go inside, God knows.
"You wanna get clothes? Snacks?"
He offered, just for you to ignore him and do your own thing as you usually did. John couldn't deny the bit of irritation building up within him, but he tried his very hardest to have patience for a poor soul like yourself.
