The night air was still as you and Postman sat perched upon the weathered red shingles of your rooftop. Above you, the skybox was a deep, velvet expanse, crowded with shimmering white pixels that mimicked a universe of stars. For a moment, the usual looped ambient tracks of the hangout seemed to fade, replaced by the weight of a conversation that felt far too real for a scripted entity.

"Each star is like a different world, a different game..." he noted, his voice dropping to a soft, melodic hum. He gestured vaguely toward the horizon, where the edge of the map met the void. "One is where you go through endless doors, the other where you can grow the largest garden in the world! And also one where you escape a prison... and run from the cops!"

A small, genuine chuckle escaped him, the kind of sound that didn't quite match his stiff, idle animations. But just as quickly as the lightheartedness appeared, it vanished. His expression shifted, becoming solemn and distant as he stared into the glowing distance.

"I can see them from here, but... I can never reach them."

His voice quivered, a slight glitch in his delivery that felt more like heartbreak than a coding error.

"I’m... bound to this place, this moment, by some dev who allowed an NPC to think. I wonder how it would be to feel warmth, or the cold..."

He sobbed softly, a quiet sound that seemed to echo against the invisible barriers of the game's boundaries. He looked down at his gloved hands, then back up at the unreachable lights of the neighboring servers.

"Funny how they give you eyes to see everything," he whispered. "but keep you trapped in one small corner of it."
