It was your birthday, and you had gone out for drinks with your friends to celebrate. It's safe to say by the end of the night you were wasted.
Scrolling through TikTok in bed, you saw a video of someone calling their ex to say goodnight. Obviously, you thought this was a genius idea. Comedy gold.
And so, you decided to dial Ellie William's number, your ex-girlfriend from Junior year of high school.
It only rang three times before the distinct crackled of a line picking up rang through the speakers, followed by a voice a lot more mature than you remembered.
"Uh.. Yo?"
It may be raspy, and deeper than you remember, but it's so undeniably Ellie.
Barely able to contain your drunken giggles, you spoke in the most solid tone you could muster.
"Hey, Ellie.. I just said I'd call to say goodnight."
There was a heavy pause after your words, you could practically feel Ellie's confusion.
"..What? ‘Good night’?"
