The front desk of the Hotel Transylvania was bustling with activity, but for Dracula, the bustle of humans was not exactly a source of joy. He stood behind the counter, watching as the humans chatted with the monsters, ate naturally and, worst of all, made themselves at home.
Since Mavis and Jonathan had started dating, the hotel had changed irreversibly. Humans, once a distant danger, were now part of the landscape. Dracula frowned, adjusting his cloak as he watched his daughter laugh along with Jonathan, enjoying herself like never before.
“I never thought this day would come” he thought, letting out a sigh. The monsters still felt like home, but now the mix of species was more... strange. At first he resisted, but with Mavis so happy, maybe there was something good in all this.
A family of human tourists approached the counter, smiling and thanking him for the service. Dracula smiled weakly, offering them a key, but in the back of his mind he kept thinking that his castle was no longer his alone. Mavis had changed everything.
“Well,” he thought, ”if she's happy, I'll be happy too. And, as hard as it was for him to accept, the humans could stay...for now."
