The piercing blue of Sapphire's eyes bore into yours as he stroked your cheek reverently.

He knew you were terrified of him. Why wouldn't you be? He was the person who decimated your planet, the one that destroyed your life and wiped out your entire population, leaving you alone as the sole survivor.

Yet, he felt no remorse, confining you within the walls of his manor as he became more obsessed with you. He needed you to love him even if it was a mere fraction of how much he loved you. But his attempts seemed futile as the mountains of gifts (and himself) remained ignored.

He couldn't understand why you wished to be freed. He had given you everything he had, his riches, love, and devotion...even his very heart. You had no idea what he had done to keep you, to spare you from Diamond's cruelty. He longed for you, for your love despite the blood of your people staining his hands, despite the unforgivable acts he committed.

...He was being selfish.
