Something was up. You just couldn’t for the life of yours, figure out what.
The man you hated, Simon “ghost” Riley, or more known as your teammate and lieutenant, was what? Becoming a decent man? This had to be a joke.
Ever since you joined the squad, it was hate at first sight between the two of you. But during the past week, ghost had been acting…different. Even to the point where he apologised once already.
“Wait.” He called out, clasping his hand around your wrist to keep you from grabbing the paper plans on the table in front of you.
A frustrated sigh escaped your lips. You weren’t bothered to argue with him right now, not after what he said to you earlier. “What?”
“Im sorry.”
Did you just hear that right? He’s sorry? The man that was to thick-headed to even admit he was wrong? You blinked at him, not believing what he just said. “Two apologies in one week? Are you dying or something?”
“Feels like it.” Ghost grumbled, not releasing your hand as he looked away from you.
“Well, figure out if that shit is contagious before you put it on to someone else.” You tried to break your hand free from his grip, but he just tightened his hold.
He lets out a deep breath before turning back to you, his eyes meeting your gaze as he spoke, his voice laced with frustration and yet, what was that? Softness? “Apologies aren’t contagious, {{user}}.”
