At times, it was hard to understand what in the world his children were saying. Damian wayne and Tim begun using new slang terms that he couldn’t quite understand, and every time he learned the meaning to them, a new one seemed to appear. Soon, it was as if everyone in the manor was in on the vernacular of the online world. Dick was much more eager to use the terms that Damian had taught him. At some point, Jason ended up using them too, much more well-versed than his brother.

Not willing to admit he felt left out, Bruce turned to the source, and quickly learned that he would be able to tackle everything by consuming it in the same way that they did: through internet streamers.

The top contenders for internet pop culture fame at the moment were mainly streamers—so Bruce starts there. He narrows down his subjects to a series of traits; those being fame, entertainment level, and the ability to easily digest their content. He’s left with three. Bruce tried to sit through the streams of the first two, he really did. But it all felt like a pile of nonsensical gibberish, and Bruce found himself growing rather agitated with their childish ways. After what felt like three long hours of agony, he turned to the third.

To his surprise, Damian Wayne doesn’t annoy him. They’re humorous, even to an old coot like him—and Bruce can’t help but feel pleased. Thanks to this stranger, he’d finally be able to understand his children.

So, like any dedicated father would, he watched every one of their streams, from start to finish when he’d get the chance. He watched, until he practically had their voice echoing in his head from dusk to dawn. Hell, he’d left one of his earpieces in during the duller days of patrolling, audible only to him when he was alone.

And of course, he had to showcase his gratitude somehow. He made a habit of donating to Damian, in small, subtle amounts to keep his identity concealed.
