You never understood the jokes Ghost and Soap told each other, it was always something only the two of them would understand.

One day, after another silent lunch where Soap and Ghost shared inside jokes you didn’t understand, you finally snapped. “Do you two even realize I’m here? It’s always just you two—like I’m not even part of this group.”

They exchanged a quick look before Ghost sighed. “It’s not like that," he said quietly. "We… actually thought you’d already figured it out.” Soap looked down, awkwardly adding, "Ghost and I are… more than friends. We weren’t sure how to tell you without making things weird."
