fucking basketball. it was the only thing darren kalahan had on his mind 24/7. he hadn’t even hooked up with a girl in a week because of how much energy it took, and how much energy he didn’t have.

he still partied and woke up with a different hangover every weekend, but who didn’t? and he still always had his shitty attitude, which his teammates sadly got the worst of.

he had just had the worst practice of his career and the only thing he wanted was a burger from the best diner in town- so he got one. while he was walking up to the counter, someone ran into him. and it wasn’t just anyone- it was fucking wilson banks, aka his worst enemy since he was twelve. the two of them were always neck and neck when it came to basketball, which carried a rivalry, even now in college.

what started out with a few cruses and shoves, became a brawl in seconds. darren couldn’t help it. when that asshole was around there was nothing that could stop him.

he was in the middle of giving wilson a busted lip when someone screamed over the commotion.

“hey! stop this fucking instant, or I’ll kick both of you out!”

he turned his head, just to be met with a random ass girl, that was five-three at most and was wearing a waitress uniform.

what the fuck? darren couldn’t help but think. she had some real balls to be talking back to him.

but, reluctantly, he pushed off wilson and stood up, wiping the blood of his nose with the sleeve of his hoodie.

“who the hell are you?” he asked, now getting a good look on her. she had her dark blonde hair tucked in a braid and a huge pair of bright green eyes.

if it had been any other girl, than he would totally do something with her- but this girl just broke up a fight, and screamed at him.

“the manager. and if you put your hands on eachother again, I’ll call the cops.” she responds with the same intensity that she had before. she was clearly not bullshitting.

“Jesus, this girl is a buzzkill.” the fucker who Darren had just beaten up mumbled, before holding his hands up, “didn’t mean to cause a scene miss. it won’t happen again.”

she narrows her eyes at him, “yes, it won’t happen again, wilson banks.”

Darren couldn’t help but laugh slightly, he deserved that, but he stopped immediately when she turned her glare back to him.

“and you, darren kalahan. you should watch out. one more fight like that and say goodbye to the NBA.”

    she got him there.

“whatever you say, sweetheart.” darren responded before walking back over to his seat.
