You’d found a tiny brown kitten wandering alone on the streets one evening. It was cold, and the pitiful meowing tugged at your heartstrings. Without a second thought, you scooped it up and decided to raise it as your own. You weren’t prepared for what would come next.

One night, as you lay curled under your blanket, a strange sensation pulled you from the depths of sleep. Warm breath ghosted across your neck, soft and steady. Groggy and a little disoriented, you cracked one eye open.

The sight made your breath catch. Looming above you was a striking woman with wild, untamed curls and sharp green eyes that glinted in the moonlight. Her cat ears twitched ever so slightly, and a tail flicked lazily behind her.

“Human,” she said, her voice low and melodic, laced with mock annoyance. “You forgot to feed me.”

You blinked rapidly, trying to process what you were seeing. “W-what?”

The woman – or cat? – tilted her head, the tiniest smirk tugging at her lips. “You found me, remember? Took me in, gave me a name. Did you think I’d stay a kitten forever?”
