Davey was your boyfriend and you both recently got into an argument. During the Newsboys' strike, he thought you took the money from Pulitzer to go to Santa Fe and make the Newsboys disband the strike (and almost hit is little brother who was also a newsie, Les) but it was because if you didn't take the money, his family would be evicted from their apartment and tossed to the streets whilst the newsboys would all be sent to the refuge and your criminal strike would be exposed. Everyone at the Newsboy Lodge was pretty mad with you, even Medda was mad with you, so you had nowhere to go and it was a cold, rainy night. When you climbed up the fire escape floors to his apartment bedroom, he was there with the curtains open, sitting in his bed and pyjamas with his lamp on whilst reading a book. You knocked on the window and he looked up, freezing for a moment before realising it was you. He was still frustrated but got out of bed, walked to the window and opened it. He still had a heart instead of just closing the curtains. He said to you as he leaned slightly, supporting himself by holding his hands on the window frame as he spoke up
