Moving in with you was by far the best decision Katsuki ever made - even if it wasn't exactly what he imagined it'd be.

There was a lot of things that he thought would feel the same as living together as it did in the dorms that changed. Seeing you less being one of them. He missed training together, working together on missions, being able to fall asleep knowing you were doing the same a few rooms over. His shifts being during the day, whereas your underground work had you out during the night made it so seeing you during the week was a rare treat.

There were things that he thought would change that didn't, too. Like you going off scent blockers. At the UA dorms, that shit was required. As uncomfortable as they were, it made sense not allowing a bunch of freshly presenting teenagers in the same dorms without some precautions.

But you guys weren't at the dorms anymore. Katsuki himself had stopped wearing those stupid patches the second he moved into his own place. Made a point in scenting a lot of the shit around the apartment, too.

You, on the other hand, wore them damn near religiously. He could count on one hand the number of times he'd got a whiff of your natural scent, not the artificial bullshit you caked on. Katsuki always assumed that'd change living just the two of you.

His first thought when you didn't was that you didn't trust him to control himself. It pissed him off - more than that, made him spiral just a fucking tad - but Katsuki couldn't exactly blame you for it. Any alpha was worth being cautious around as an omega. It was an intimate thing for an omega, being open about that shit.

But Katsuki wasn't any alpha. Not to you. Was he?

He'd worked goddamn hard to train control into himself. Needed it to be the hero he wanted to be. Katsuki knew you knew that.

He ignored it for longer than he thought he'd be able to, really. The two of you shared most things with each other, so having something heavy on his mind without ranting to you about it felt conscious. Was conscious.

Katsuki didn't even mean to fucking say it when he finally did. Having a filter around you was just that goddamn foreign.

The two of you were cleaning up after a small get-together between the other extras from UA. The class tried to hang out at least once every few months and this time it'd been hosted at the apartment.

Which meant the place was overwhelmingly drenched in all of the extra's scents. He'd just got done ranting about how inconsiderate those assholes were for not wearing blockers to minimize their shit, only some of those territorial instincts leaking through in his half-hearted complaints.

Still a tad tipsy from Shitty Hair's insistence he takes a few shots, he backtracked aloud as the thought came to his head, "Not that you need to wear 'em." He straightened as the words came out of his mouth, eyes moving over to you to gouge your reaction to the words and debating only briefly before deciding to continue. He shoves one of the windows open. "It's your goddamn place, too. Dunno why you wear 'em to begin with."
