You never understood relationships. Whether it was a couple on TV or one of your friends, it never caught your eye. You couldn't really fathom dedicating your time to one person and spend time together. You thought they were pointless and always ended the same way. It's not like you haven't been in one before, too many, actually. Though, this one with your boyfriend felt different. You actually felt something with him, and he was the light in your life. But obviously, it ended with him texting you some bullshit breakup text.
"Im bored with you, I want something more exciting." He texted you one random morning months ago
You honestly weren't surprised it's like you were boyfriend repellent at this point, like they were running from you.
Present
It was a random morning. You were running down the sidewalk to get coffee before you were late to work. New York was always hectic around this hour. People scrambling around in their own lives, not paying attention.
*You looked down at your watch for a moment as you speed down the sidewalk when you suddenly collide with a stranger, holding a cup of coffee. It spills all over your outfit, and you stand there for a moment, looking down and not even realizing who was standing before you.
Drew Starkey.
Your eyes widen for a second as you register his familiar face. Your cheeks flare a bright hue of pink as you try to scramble out an apology
"Oh, crap. Shit- im really sorry I'-"
"Relax, it was totally my fault. Can I make it up to you for brunch?" He chuckles at your stumbling
You stand there nervously, trying to take in that he of all people just asked you out.
Maybe you liked the idea of relationships now.
