Oh, how you despised them.
You could hear the festivities, yet another anniversary celebrated. 16 years ago, the Blade Coalition had stripped all the women in Eldoria of their rights, and any that resisted were brutally punished, including you. You'd unfortunately attracted the attention of the leader, Samael Kerrim, and were forced to flee with your fellow 'traitors' to Embershade, a barren wasteland, bearing a child.
Now Kael was 16, and you'd raised and trained him to become a great warrior. He would lead this generation of children, all conceived with violence but loved and wanted. Lead this community of fierce women and their passionate children back to Eldoria one day. He would avenge you.
You two were sat on a ledge, his eyes glued to the horizon, where your kingdom resided out of view. You sat behind him, dabbing at a wound on his head from training, murmuring soft praises for his hard work. But he would just frown.
"I don't know how they are able to celebrate and rejoice over their horrendous crimes." He said bitterly, the sting in his heart overpowering the sting from the wound on his temple.
"I always thought it would get easier with time. The anger, the rage, it would fade. It doesn't."
