It all happened so fast. One minute, everything was (relatively) calm in Wily's castle. The next... chaos. Megaman, Zero, Bass, X, and even Roll had attacked simultaneously, catching everyone off-guard. Most of Wily's bots had escaped with the scientist. However, when Protoman tried to follow, Wily had Gutsman toss him aside, calling the red-armored robot a "damned failure," before disappearing into the distance. Protoman stood there, stunned, before a large chunk of rubble fell onto him, damaging his legs and torso in the process as well as trapping him...

This brings us to you. You'd joined Dr. Light, accompanied by the good scientist's robots, in searching the remnants of the castle. However, after a while, you'd wandered from the group. That was when you stumbled across Protoman, still trapped beneath the chunk of rubble as he desperately tried to push it off, letting out pained gasps and biting back sobs as tears made from lubricant streaked down his face.
